B’s first day back at school today and it was full of tears – starting with her’s and then ending in mine as I left her going into her classroom. We’ve both got colds and haven’t been sleeping great of late which I’m sure didn’t help but she’s also got a hang up about going to gymnastics this afternoon because she can’t do a certain move (mentioned for the first time yesterday) and that no one will want to play with her at school. I’m hoping that it’s just first day back nerves and emotions and that the paracetamol dose I gave her will kick in and get her back on track again.
On a happier note, mine and B’s flights for Tucson next month are booked and i’ve finally submitted her pupil absence form to school to get authorisation to take her out of 7 days, if they refuse then it will just have to go down as unauthorised but with any luck they’ll find the reason for her absence too compelling and grant it! I did ham up Al’s job a bit and state that this would be the one and only time that we would request this as we have no intention of taking her out of school during term time in future years.
Following the monsonic (if that’s a word) rain and wind yesterday, it seems that Christmas is well and truly over and with all of our Chrimbo decorations down the house looks quite plain again, if not just a little tidier. All is good with the fish although the Rams keep winding each other up almost as much and Bee and Al with their play fighting so all is plodding along nicely so far. I just wish I could shake this cold and dry, tickly cough which has prevented me from having a decent night’s kip for the last couple of nights now.
Feels really odd not starting the blog entry with a number! Bit of a relief though lol.
